Wildlife and Woodland Garden
-
This nature-loving client wanted a garden that embraced woodland and wildlife while shifting focus away from an unappealing view. They sought to make better use of a large, underutilised side garden, creating a tranquil and immersive space that celebrates biodiversity and connects seamlessly with nature.
-
The existing garden lacked a strong focal point and suffered from an undesirable view. However, the presence of mature trees and a spacious side garden presented an opportunity to craft a woodland-inspired retreat. The challenge was to integrate bespoke, naturalistic features while ensuring the garden remained both visually engaging and wildlife-friendly.

The design brings the garden to life with sculptural, organic elements that encourage exploration and engagement with nature. A salvaged tree stump from the client’s own woodland becomes a striking natural feature, complemented by beautifully arranged wood piles and bug hotels that provide habitats for wildlife while serving as decorative elements. A sculptural water bowl with a bespoke spout is carefully positioned outside the main doors, drawing the eye toward the garden’s best views. This atmospheric, immersive space is not only a private retreat but also a garden regularly opened to the public, allowing visitors to experience its enchanting connection to the natural world.
