Infinity Edge Pool Garden
Client: Private
Year Completed: 2021
Size: 1100 sqm
Location: Esher
This smart, contemporary pool garden was designed as the second phase of this client’s garden transformation. An infinity edge pool was designed to make the most of the steeply sloping site and the incredible views south over the Surrey Hills. Beautiful flowering trees were strategically used to screen the adjacent houses, whilst still allowing the far reaching views to be appreciated. Best of all the clients can swim in the pool whilst looking onto a flowery tree canopy.
The previously unused steeply sloping lawn adjacent to the pool was transformed into a unique woodland garden with trees selected for their seasonal interest and underplanted with flowing blocks of low maintenance perennials and grasses, underplanted with bluebells. Wooden steps and bark paths keep this part of the garden informal and provide a fun contrast to the clean lines of the pool garden.
The steep site meant that structural engineering and big cranes were needed for the construction, as well as well as brain-taxing levels of design. This complex garden won a prestigious industry award for its landscaping.
